Warm Greetings from The Association of People with Disability. (APD).
APD is a 53 years old NGO working with people from under privileged segment
with the objective of making them contributing members of society. Our
pillar programs are Education and Vocational Training & Livelihood. Since
we are in the area of disability healthcare, therapy and mobility aids are
integrated to these pillar programs. In addition to that we have a strong
advocacy wing. And we also network and collaborate with other NGOs to
enhance our reach in a cost effective manner.
At any point of time we reach out to 25,000 people across Karnataka with a
staff strength of 260 and with 4 campuses and three district offices in
Bijapur, Davanagere and Chikkaballapur. But this is a drop in the ocean
considering there are 70 million disabled people in India and 1 million in
Karnataka as per conservative estimates. For further details , you may

We also wanted to tell you about an exciting new opportunity for APD . We
have been selected by the GlobalGiving
working around the world.
In order to succeed in GlobalGiving’s Open Challenge, APD must raise *$5,000
from 40 unique donors* by *31st December’12* . If we meet this threshold,
